Optical Auctions is open to any company or individual(s), anywhere in the world, who wants to bid on or sell their product(s) or services to the ophthalmic industry. Each company or individual must be registered with Optical Auctions and complete all user agreements. A full verification process based on the information provided will be completed prior to use of the Optical Auctions site.

Listing Fees

When you are placing an item up for the sale, there is never an insertion fee.

There is no cost to sell products on Optical Auctions unless you choose to use the optional advertising accompanyments. In the description area of each lot you may use html to create a more striking message. You can also include in the description area additional photos at NO ADDITIONAL charge.

You may choose to promote your products on any of the main category pages or homepage. On each of these pages there's room for up to 4 pictures of products, as well as, the ability to have your listing shown in BOLD type in a table below the pictures. If there are more than 4 pictures presented for display, they will rotate within their main category or on the home page at the choice of the advertiser. The fee to place a listing in BOLD type is $5.00 per listing. The fee to FEATURE your item in the listing area beneath the photos is $25.00 on the homepage and $15.00 on the main category pages. These fees will be added to your commissions, should your lot sell, and are paid at the time of listing.

All fees and commissions are payable in US dollars.

All winning bids will be commissionable to Optical Auctions.    The commissions are calculated on the following rates:

Minimum Fee on any sale of $15.00, plus 5% of the amount over $300.00

Commissions will be charged 72 hrs after the close of the auction and are automatically charged to your credit card on file.

Optical Auctions can arrange for pick up and delivery of your product(s). Optical Auctions has made arrangements with a national packaging and shipping company to visit your location and package your products for delivery. You will be responsible for payment of this service to the shipping company. If you would like to take advantage of this service, there is a small administration fee of $25.00.

Optical Auctions is pleased to offer escrow transaction services - OA Escrow. In order to ensure that sellers get paid for their products and buyers get what was bid on, as well as, to promote a pleasant, secure and efficient business transaction, this service holds payment in an accredited bank or financial institution trust. Once the buyer receives and inspects the merchandise, the escrow service sends the payment to the seller. We highly recommend this escrow service with any transaction involving equipment or large ticket items.

Purpose: To protect the buyer and seller, provide clear title to equipment and increase customer satisfaction and security.

1. Upon completion of the auction, Buyer and/or Seller may agree to use the Optical Auction?s Escrow Service, OA Escrow. Should either decide to use the Escrow Service, the other party must comply.

2. Buyer deposits the agreed upon selling price into OA Escrow. Seller is notified that payment has been made and received by Optical Auctions. Buyer is charged $100 administration fee for escrow service.

3. The seller ships the product directly to the buyer. Shipping information is forwarded to OA Escrow. Buyer pays shipping costs.

4. Inspection Period: A maximum of 2 working days from the date of delivery. Duration of inspection period is negotiated between buyer and seller with the final approval by Optical Auctions.

5. Buyer accepts the product.

6. OA Escrow sends a check for the appropriate amount to the seller less the appropriate commission.

7. The buyer may only return items AFTER contacting Optical Auctions, and only if the item received is; 1. not the item purchased; or, 2. not in the condition described in the descriptive area of the auction lot. If after consulting with Optical Auctions, it is decided that the seller was at fault and the seller will not provide a mutually acceptable remedy, the buyer may return the item to the seller at the seller's cost.

Should the buyer not contact Optical Auctions prior to returning the item in question or refuse to allow the seller to remedy the situation, the buyer will:

-- Forfeit the escrow fee,

-- Pay for shipping in both directions,

-- and up to a 15% administrative charge for canceling order may be made to the buyer by Optical Auctions.

Certain personal data are required from you for registration into the site, such as name, address, e-mail, etc. This personal data will be internally used by Optical Auctions to assist in improving the content and product offerings on the site and to allow you to use the site effectively. Personal information about individuals will not be provided to any third party. However, we do reserve the right to release aggregate information about our subscribers for demographic research, marketing and promotional purposes. Secure information, such as banking accounts, credit card numbers, or other financial information will not, under any circumstances, be released to any party.
